This is why school sucks

Learning has become a part of our everyday life. No matter how old you are and where you live, we still find things that blow our minds. For instance, just like in every other country, going to school is one of the most basic essential things of living. Some people take school seriously that they are competitive about it. It is a common thing for people to go to school even at a very young age. It's a place where a teacher educates and teaches students. Going to school at first was never an easy thing but eventually, we get adapted to its environment and meet a lot of new people. School can be fun, But seeing the teachers just doing their duty and has no interest in their students saddens me. These days, not only teenagers but also many others suffer from depression, anxiety and many more mental health issues related. We are busy to process "get your work done" and conduct what's given upon us. It's like we are having an endless competition. As a result, we end up feeling this fear and unsure about what we do.

This year, I met this Korean teacher in her 30's and she often talks about her nightmares and how miserable her life is because of the heavyweight she carries from her job. I also remember my science teacher in middle school telling me that there are many ways to earn money, so becoming a teacher is not a good choice. Regardless of what they have become is a truly great achievement, They are still not quite satisfied with what they're having. Till now, I encountered many teachers looking deflated, confused about what they are doing. And the thought of becoming an adult haunts me even more. (P.S. I am not discouraging people who want to be a teacher, I'm just sharing my experience).

As I grew up, I was envious of my cousins because they can earn money, do whatever they want, without asking for permission from their parents. However, now I can see that adulting is not so easy. You will face many responsibilities and it's not just all about unicorns and rainbows. Especially when you realize how unfair the reality is.

I think that every one of us is already exhausted and numb to help others. Just like the teacher-student situation that I see in our school. Despite knowing the fact, we don't commit to taking one step further to lift each other. There were many tough times at school, I wanted to help my friends but I couldn't cheer them emotionally and show them that I care. Therefore I came across the idea that schools should also educate students about self-care. Like building our self-esteem, because not all parents can fully understand and help the issues that their child is going through. If school is about education then it should also teach us important things like how to love ourselves and to overcome or dealing with our own emotions. This can also make us closer and I think that school might become a better place if that will happen someday.
What are your thoughts? Let me know :)
